A Zippin-powered store uses smart cameras and shelves. It's important to train and supervise all persons performing store maintenance. If Zippin hardware is not properly handled, the customer experience and store sales could be interrupted.
GUIDELINES
- People on ladders have the potential to bump cameras. Take special caution to prevent this by talking to technicians beforehand and supervising their work.
- While working, do not place tools or equipment (including work gloves) on the shelves.
- Inform Zippin Support of all maintenance occurring where Zippin hardware (cameras, sensors, shelves) are in the work zone. Zippin Support can monitor store performance and alert and advise if the store experiences an issue as a result of the maintenance work.
- Sensors are sensitive to temperature, humidity, and movements but are designed to adapt to slow temperature and humidity changes. Step 5 below addresses sensor movements.
SHELF REMOVAL - PROCESS
| Take special caution to advise technicians and new staff of shelf handling guidelines. Do not assume they know. |
1. Ensure the technician and/or associate enter store using Crew QR Key
2. Fully unplug the shelf before removal
3. Place the shelf in a designated, safe (dry and level) area
4. Return the shelf to its original location in the store
| IMPORTANT: Shelves are configured for a specific location and accurate customer receipts depend on shelves being in the right location. When removing more than one shelf, look at each shelf upon removal. If it is not labelled with a shelf location indicator - create an label for each shelf as it is removed. Use these labels to ensure it is returned to the original location after the work is completed. |
5. Fully plug the shelf back in
6. Confirm that all shelf sensors sit flat on all four legs
7. Confirm physical SKU quantities match the Shelf Inventory. Manually update if incorrect.
