A Zippin powered store uses hardware and AI to process shopping and Crew activities. By updating the store mode to match the store activity, it minimizes wear and tear on store hardware. It also conserves computing resources. With the store in the proper mode, the store is more efficient. This efficiency results more timely reports and receipts.
BRING THE STORE UP - PROCESS
1. From the Zippin Dashboard (dashboard.getzippin.com), navigate to the store’s home page. Alternatively, this page can be accessed from a mobile browser.
If you see the following view, the store is already UP. Hover over the green check mark or red 'X' to see who brought the store up/down recently
2. Ensure that there are no customer/staff inside the store when you start this request. Alert staff they may not enter until you give another announcement.
3. Click on the Bring UP button.
4. Select the checkbox and hit confirm.
5. Wait for the request to complete.
No store crew or customer should enter the store until the request is complete. The process takes 2 minutes. If shoppers enter too early, cameras may not pick up their activity. *note, stores with HPC hardware require 10 minutes
6. Once finished, the page will automatically refresh and should see the following view:
The store is now UP. Associates must enter the store with the crew access code.
The store will be blocked from "UP" mode if critical hardware or network is not functioning. The dashboard user will be directed to contact Retailer Support. This is to prevent the store from operating without the critical systems to process receipts.
If bringing the store UP within minutes of shoppers entering, confirm on the Store Dashboard that the store mode is "UP." It has been observed that the cameras do not fully come "UP" for 5 minutes. If shoppers enter before cameras load, there would be no video footage and potential for lost sales.
BRING THE STORE DOWN - PROCESS
Effective 12/16/23, Zippin will bring down event stores after confirming the store is closed for shoppers and empty. It is recommended that the entry be physically barricaded when shopping hours end. This assists Zippin in confidently knowing the shopping hours have ended.

If you see the following view, the store is already DOWN

CREW ONLY MODE
- Associates, vendors, and technicians (non-shoppers) should enter the store using their Crew QR code
- Refer to Store Explanations for more detail
-
No shopping activity can occur. The store is closed for customers.
- Any shopping that takes place during Crew Only status is not recorded. Taking product for consumption at this time would constitute theft.
- Crew mode exists to enable crew to manage inventory (bulk stock, count inventory, change planogram, etc.)
- These activities cause system noise if performed in UP status. Bulk stocking in "UP" mode will result in receipt delay when customers begin shopping for the day. For that reason, Crew Only status exists to enable store operational needs while keeping the Zippin system efficient.
